Aone was not much of a party goer. Although his friends were more outgoing, he in fact was not. He was more of a homebody, mostly leaving his shared apartment with Kenji for school, to get more ramen from the corner shop near his uni or practice with his newly-formed volleyball team; courtesy of his newly-formed friend, Kanji. Then proceeding to come home to shower, nap, wake up, struggle with his homework and then sleep till the next day. He was about to start the fourth activity of his daily routine when the sound of the doorbell rang through the apartment.

Sighing, he left his spot at the kitchen island to open the front door, then trying to close it once Kanji’s face appeared behind it.

“Woah woah if you wanted some alone time, you should’ve just said that”, the cat-faced friend exclaimed, just barely slipping through the crack in the door. Face adorned with brown freckles and a smile seemingly super glued to his face, he looked like the poster boy of golden retriever boys, “Wouldn’t matter anyway since I’m still dragging you to Sugawara’s tonight.”

Ah yes, Suga’s party, the one Aone was being forced to go to as a favour for his new friend. The white haired boy uttered a grunt of disapproval as Kanji plopped down onto his couch.

A slightly dejected sigh left the tall boy’s lips, wishing it was him y/n would joke about marrying to the- wait party?? The realization that y/n was going to the same party as him made heart race with anticipation and although he never talked to her in any of the classes they shared, Aone developed a massive crush on y/n just by seeing the way she interacts with others as well as her personality. The trio hurriedly leave their apartement, Kanji practically dragging both boys to his car before appointing Aone as the designated driver as the boy was the only one who had no intention to drink at the party.

The ride to the party took much more than half an hour as Aone was forced to drive while simultaneously trying to stop the two boys at the back from drinking any more of the pregame Kanji brought as well as preventing Kenji from messing with the aux cord. In the end, both boys settled on playing Ei8th mile on repeat the rest of the drive, both alternating between rapping DigDat and Aitch’s lines. Finally getting to the address Sugawara sent to the group, the trio hopped out of the car and went to knock on the door, opening to reveal the silver haired boy in all his glory wearing a burger king crown and a drunk smile.“You guys look li-hiccup-ke you had a fun drife here”, opening the door wider to reveal flashing red and purple strobe lights, living room filled with drunk and soon-to-be drunk college students and a hiphop song playing with a loud base that almost made Aone’s teeth clink. The two drunk boys wasted no time heading to the make shift bar in the kitchen, Aone following reluctantly behind feeling quite awkward in the party setting. Even worse, he was unable to spot y/n in the crowd making his heart drop lower into his stomach.

The aquarium at work could not compare to the vast ocean and long beaches. You sat down, unable to walk anymore with your injured leg. The sand was warm under your skin, sighing contently; you looked at the water eyes reflecting the scorching sun that bounced of the ocean. Everything was serene Everything was beautiful The sand crunched under Hoseok’s weight, you didn’t pay attention to his persistent poking to busy soaking up the view that you might not see again in a while. You really should visit the beach more often. Hoseok was fed up with you ignoring him like he had done to you through the whole car ride. He spun the soda can, now full with condensation, trying to find the coldest area. He smiled devilishly as he placed it onto your skin. You quickly jolt back hissing in surprise, quickly slapping Hoseok on his arm before he had time to flee. He fell into fits of giggles when you grumbled, rubbing the your skin to heat it up. “Namjoon told me about what happened” He sobered up rather quickly opening the can and handing it to you. You swung the can into small circles, slushing around the soda in the can. You hummed as you took a sip, peeking over the can waiting for Hoseok to continue. He also seemed to be waiting for you to say something or at least to give a different reaction if the deer in headlights look on his face was anything to go by. You cracked a smile taking another sip before putting the can down. “Is that why you took me here then, to cheer me up?” “No. I wanted to see you in a swimsuit.” He leaned in a little causing his breath to tickle your face. The serious look on his face caused you to splutter a little. You made a disgusted face leaning back to put distance between both of you. Hoseok’s laughter sound like music to your ears. He returned to his former position, finally taking a sip from his own drink. Hoseok and you had developed a flirty relationship over the years; you both would either reciprocate or reject the other person advances. This type of friendship came out of nowhere but you had no problem with it. “You should move in with your parents. If you get kicked out I mean…” He rose from the ground dusting the sand off his clothes. “They’ve probably been waiting for you to go home for a while” He held out his hand for you to take pulling you off the beach. “I know” you whispered, picking the cans off the sand. “They’re just -”A sigh escaped your lips as stacked the cans ontop of each other following after your friend to the car. Your parents weren’t bad people they just weren’t ready to have children, and it showed. They always kept you at arm’s length, like you were an acquaintance. They would control your social circle deeming Hoseok not worthy to be your friend and that you should get married to Namjoon for connections to his family. “I know…” He smiled sadly “But it’s been years. They are old now. You can leave if it becomes too much.” He turned around taking the cans from you, resting them into the cup holder. You grunted deep in thought. What if he was right? Could they change? You looked back at the beach for the last time as the car started driving. You missed it already.

“Hoseok wait!!” He slowed down the car; you ignored the confusion all over his face as you popped the door open running far down the beach. You ignored the pain that surged through your body, probably reopening the wound on your leg. The sand clung to your feet like it was trying to stop you from where you were going, you stumbled a little before scooping the item in your hand. You turned around to the street giving Hoseok a thumbs up. Following the trail you made earlier in the day you clambered into the car closing the door. You held the item closer to your chest, contented.

Packing was all you seemed to be doing nowadays. Your possessions seemed endless with the need to rest cutting in ever so often. You looked at your still bandaged leg frowning a bit. The leg had gotten infected when you underestimated the severity of the injury giving you a well overdue hospital visit. Hoseok refused to make you continue packing since you needed to ‘rest according to doctor instructions’. He was correct but your rest time prolonged your packing. You had the whole week to pack up and move out which you thought was more than enough time since you had the help of Namjoon and Hoseok, but they had been at work for majority of the week, so most of the work fell on your shoulders. Despite your lack of communication, you were thankful that your parents had paid for the damage to the apartment, saving Namjoon and your wallet from the burden of a lifetime. You decided to rest, wobbling over to your bed. You looked around your almost barren room spying the item you had picked up from the beach. It collected the sunlight in your room separating them in small rays illuminating small areas off the room. You weren’t sure if what you picked up was a seashell, it was shaped like one; if you put it close to your ears you could hear the sea but it looked like an aquamarine gem. It looked so fragile you didn’t dare to take it up after you accidentally dropped it earlier in the week. You have been thinking about making it into a necklace. Warmth spread around your chest whenever you looked at the seashell, you weren’t sure if it was a memory of your time at the ocean or because of how beautiful it looked just sitting on your bedside table. You taped the final box, bending backward to stretch your back. You let out a pleased groan when the muscle loosened. You looked at the clock, just in time you thought. The boxes were already lined up at the front of your apartment waiting for the moving truck. Namjoon had texted you, sorrowful that he couldn’t be there to help you move out. He was just so endearing you couldn’t be mad at him. You sat down on one of the boxes, checking the time. “Any minute now” You grumbled staring at the phone like it would cause time to speed up. When the sound of feet approached you, you quickly got up from the box to give the movers space to do their job. But the sound of your name caused you to look away from your phone. “Mom?” Her eyes were glassed over as she took in your form. You guess that happens when you haven’t seen your only child for years. She covered her mouth choking on her tears a little before turning to your father. They really aged gracefully. The fine lines and wrinkles on their face gave them a softer appearance than what you were used to. They looked like grandparents, kind and wise. You could imagine your mom baking cookies and your dad making a fool of himself trying to help her before she kicks him out of the kitchen. ‘Imagine’ “Mom” She teared up repeating what you had called her. “I’m so sorry, my daughter” Few words had to be spoken to know what that meant. How deep it cut you? You might never know, but the tears streaming down your face had said enough for your parents. The movers quickly stacked the boxes into the truck not sparing a second glance at you and your parents tear eyed and red faces, probably to not make you uncomfortable. After finalizing the move with you the men returned to the truck transporting everything to your new residence. Your father started off in the direction of their vehicle not saying anything to both you and your mom. Her watery smile struck you in your heart, she clasped her frail hands. “Let’s go home”

“Mom!!” She placed a hand over heart still not used to the term of endearment. She wasn’t sure how she went through most of your life not liking the term. She hummed, still stirring the porridge she turned to look at you. You were clinging onto the door frame for dear life having woken up early to go to work. It would take an hour or two to reach but you didn’t mind. You ha adjusted nicely into your new home despite it being a couple days. Your parents had tried their best to make you feel welcomed, correcting their past mistakes. Asking about Hoseok and Namjoon ever so often, trying to integrate your friends into their lives.

“Have you seen my wetsuit?” Before your mother could answer, your father was at the door handing your wetsuit to you. You folded the warm wetsuit placing it under your arm; he must’ve hanged it outside on the line for it to dry since you were too tired to do it last night.

Old age does change how someone perceives life. Your parents seemed to value a more peaceful, simple life. Unlike their younger selves who wanted money, business and connections. Now your mom went fishing with your father, she hummed songs as she planted flowers in the windowsills or baked for the children in the village a mile or so from the beach where you reside. The beach house was rather beautiful perched on a cliff, surrounded by shrubs and coconut trees, which mom always had use for. She would experiment making grater cake or coconut pudding allowing you to be the taste tester. Ideally you’d have wanted a father just as openly doting as your mother but this was fine. He took care of you in silence, behind the scenes, washing your wetsuit or suddenly not being hungry when only one portion of lobster was left. If you refused and told him to eat it he would leave the table and sit in his chair overlooking the ocean, forcing you to eat the last piece or it would go bad.

Placing all your belongings into a draw bag you pecked your mom on the cheek and your dad on the forehead before making your way to the bus stop. Your parents had insisted you use their car but your lack of driver’s license would make that impossible.

You, Hoseok and Namjoon were the only ones at work. What irked you more was the lack of work you were getting. The tenseness in the air was palpable as you munched on the snacks you found in the fridge. Namjoon looked too sick to eat picking at his food ever so often. Hoseok was trying to sleep which remain unsuccessful. The lunchroom door opening startled all of you to varying degrees. Seeing your boss march through the door you pulled your hand from the fridge taking a cup of coconut pudding with you. Namjoon was alert while Hoseok sluggishly sat up, fatigue settling in his bones.

“You’re eating more food?” You bossed cocked an eyebrow in your direction. The question sounded normal; as eating before doing your job, which mostly involved swimming wasn’t the best idea. But you understood what he was insinuating, he ‘teased’ you alot. You shoved another spoon of pudding into your mouth to avoid confrontation. Seeing he wasn’t going to get a reaction, he cleared his throat deciding to talk about the matter at hand.

He placed a flyer on the table. One you had been seeing for a while now, on every surface they could fit.

The aquarium wasn’t running low on funds so you didn’t know the need for a stunt like this. It didn’t matter to you, the more the merrier. “You” He pointed to me, seemingly taking in my current condition of being unable to swim he thought carefully about the task. “Reward them if they deserve it; punish them if they deserve it.

Adrian Toomes would never get used to the sensation of flying. The wings that had been invented for him to turn him into ‘The Vulture’ were works of art, and they made him feel more powerful than any king.

But today, something was a little off.

“Got a visual on the plane, but I’m feeling a little resistance.”

His best science guy, Mason, came in over his earpiece, “It’s probably just drag on the new turbines.”

He accepted this explanation and kept climbing higher.

“Look out for the cloaking cameras. Stay in the blind spots,” Mason warned. 🍍 “Oh my god, oh my god!”

Trailing behind Toomes by a literal thread of his thankfully super tough specially formulated web fluid was Peter, decked out in his original, hand-sewed Spider-suit that was mostly just a hoodie and some safety goggles, since Tony had taken away his fancy StarkTech suit.

He could glide and flip and climb to very high heights with his suit and powers, but he had never done so to the height of an airplane, and this was absolutely, gut-wrenchingly terrifying.

Toomes landed on top of the jet. Unbeknownst to him, Parker had released his tether and was clinging for dear life to the bottom of the jet. Luckily he was quite sticky, so as scared as he felt, he was in little to no danger of detaching from the metal and falling. Because of the retroactive reflective panels, which were essentially a series of small cameras and and screens, his image was being displayed over the top of the jet as well, though the only beings privy to that information were a couple of exceptionally high-flying birds who couldn't care less.

Toomes placed a device on the top of the jet. Through his earpiece he heard, “Deploying high altitude vacuum seal.”

“This better work, Mason,” he warned. He tried to sound intimidating, but ultimately he was scared for his own life and safety if this failed. He, too, was higher than he’d ever been.

“Trust me, boss,” his crony assured him, “Just one of these boxes and we will be set for life.”

The device had been activated, causing a portal of sorts to appear in the top of the plane, so Toomes was able to drop down into the hold. It was the last and most important stuff coming out of the old Avengers Tower/Stark Tower moving to the upstate Avengers Compound that had been built about a year earlier. It was the highest security, so highest risk but also highest yield, shipment Toomes had ever attempted to intercept.

Just one glance around the cargo hold was enough to prove that Mason’s assurances were exactly right. This stuff was pure gold for the black market. Weapons, security systems that could easily be weaponized, transport equipment. Stuff SHIELD had developed, stuff Hydra had developed under the guise of SHIELD, stuff Stark had worked on, stuff Banner had worked on, stuff that had been recovered from various alien attacks, vibranium… Just an absolute, fucking gold mine.

“Yeah,” Toomes breathed.

“You have thirty seconds to get to the cockpit and override their security,” Mason reported, tearing Toomes out of his reverie.

He began storming towards the front of the plane, striding as long as he could in the relatively cramped space.

Meanwhile, Peter was still holding on for dear life on the bottom of the jet as it hurled through space faster than any commercial airplane. Ever so slowly he was creeping towards the door, trying super hard not to look down or throw up. 🍍 Toomes entered the cockpit of the unmanned jet, all set to set up the device that would let Mason remotely clone the transponder signal, launch a decoy drone that would follow the initial intended route, and reroute the plane according to the coordinates they set, thus directing the plane back to the warehouse where they could safely unload all of the merchandise before anyone even noticed anything was wrong.

“Hello, Adrian.”

What he found up in the cockpit of what was supposed to be the unmanned jet was a different story.

“Technically it’s still an unmanned jet,” Beau addressed his unspoken confusion.

“That’s right. It’s not manned, it’s wo-manned,” Carol announced proudly.

“Actually, I was just going to say that we’re not controlling the thing. We’re just the security team.” She pushed a button on a remote in her hand, and a force field shot up from the ground right where Vulture was standing, effectively paralyzing him.

“Boss, what’s going on? Are you ok?” Carol walked over to Toomes and removed the earpiece from his ear.

“Hey, bro?” she quietly asked directly into a spot on the console while holding the ear-piece as far away from her as she could, her fist wrapped around the entire thing. “Can anything on this plane reverse engineer an ear-piece to find its transmitting location?”

Tony’s answer came floating through a speaker somewhere: “Ask the kid. Also, you’re speaking into the speaker not the microphone. Also, his microphone is on his suit, not in the ear-piece.”

“Ok, well, you know I’m helpless with technology, so, not my fault everything you do is complicated,” Carol retorted, putting her other hand on her hip but still holding the ear-piece at arm’s length. “And kid? What kid?? Is there a child on this plane!!!???”

Just at that moment, there was a furious knocking on the bay doors, and Peter Parker’s voice called out, “Hello?? Is that you, Miss Carol? Can you let me in please?”

“Oh my god!” Beau exclaimed, scrambling to find the manual door-open latch. She didn’t even have to grab his arm once the hatch was open; he just flopped onto the floor, and his own natural spider-stickiness kept him glued there without being sucked back out long enough for Beau to close the door.

“Pe-“ Carol began, then caught herself, “eenie-weenie Spider-Boy!”

  When I wake up, I’m on the ground somewhere. I sit up way too quickly and I almost pass out again immediately. Some kind of warehouse or… something. I remember falling and hitting the water and then… nothing. Behind me someone moves and I spin around, only to find Bucky waking up. His arm is caught in a sort of vice.   I move forwards and wrap my hands around his face, muttering apologies in Russian. His free hand traps mine there. I press my lips softly to his forehead. He starts trying to get up and I hear Sam’s voice for a moment and then footsteps. I turn around and see Rogers and Wilson approaching us cautiously. 

   “Steve,”    “Which Bucky am I talking to?” He’s clearly uneasy.    “Your mom’s name was Sarah,” He pauses before chuckling, “You used to wear newspapers in your shoes,”    “Can’t read that in a museum,” Steve smirks a bit.    “Just like that, we’re supposed to be cool?”    “I dropped him,” The two men look to me, “Used the fail-safe. It’s not even written down in his files. Say a word, he drops unconscious and switches out of it,” They nod but still seem unsure.    “What did I do?” Bucky manages to get out.    “Enough,”    “Oh god. I knew this would happen,” His voice breaks a little and so does my heart, “Everything HYDRA put inside me is still there. All he had to do is say the goddamn words,”    “Who was he?”    “I don’t know,”    “The bombing, the setup… The doctor did all that just to get 10 minutes with you. I need you to do better than ‘I don’t know’”    “Hey! Ok. That’s enough. Give him a fucking break!” I stand up.    “N/N, don’t,”    “He’s been through hell and back. He wakes up and you’re already interrogating him. Maybe back off a little!” My voice has been rising in volume and I find myself standing directly in front of Steve, “I’m not scared of you. And unlike my soldier, I don’t have any issues with hurting you to deal with you!”    “Y/N, stop,” I whirl around, “He’s just trying to help us,” I huff, debating whether it was worth punching his face but decide against it and march back to Bucky’s side and crouch beside him, “He wanted to know about Siberia. Where I was kept. He wanted to know exactly where,”    “Well, fuck,” I mutter quietly. Only one reason anyone would want to go there.    “Why would he need to know that?”    “Because I’m not the only Winter Soldier,”

  Watching Soldat train was certainly not my favorite activity. It was stressful and I disliked the other supersoldiers. One in particular was very aggressive.   Today was no exception. The rest of the nurses and I stood by on benches next to our soldiers. I stood with Konstantinov, Soldat’s current handler. Watching a pair of them compete in hand-to-hand, I bounced slightly on my toes. Soldat gave me a look but I ignored him.   I was getting nervous as Soldat started to spar with the angry one. I held my breath as they fought. The other one managed to get a grip on his arm and then kicked him across the room. He landed next to me after hitting the wall.    “You’ll have to do better,” Konstantinov scoffed, “Good work,” He directed towards the other one.   I bent down and pressed my palm to his cheek before he stood up. While the other one’s nurse took his heart rate, he slammed the poor guy onto the ground after breaking his arm.   One of the guards hit him with a stick but it hardly did anything. Konstantinov cocked his gun, “Soldat, get me out of here,” I followed them out of the room while the other soldiers turned on the guards and the nurses. We ended up in a safe part of the facility while the others were sedated.

   “Who were they?”    “Their most elite death squad. More kills than anyone in HYDRA history,”     “And that was before the serum,” I add, shaking my head.    “They all turn out like you?” Sam seemed edgy now,    “Worse,”     “The doctor,” Steve asked, “Could he control them?”    “Enough,”    “Said he wanted to see an empire fall,”     “With these guys he could do it,” I stand up, “They speak 30 languages, can hide in plain sight, infiltrate, assassinate, destabilise. They can take a whole country down in one night, you’d never see them coming. We were taught the same things too, the enhanced,”    “This would have been a lot easier a week ago,” Sam says to Steve.   They release his arm from the vice, still talking.    “If we call Tony-”    “No, he won’t believe us,”    “Even if he did, who knows if the Accords will let him help?” I turn my focus back to Bucky, who’s trying to calm down again. I run my fingers through his hair and remind him to breathe.   We end up in a really old car, squished in. We were flown to Germany for whatever reason. I’ve relaxed my head against Bucky’s shoulder and when we stop I see that blue-haired girl, Selene, step out of a different car to meet Steve.   After a few minutes of chatting and what-not, they kiss and I smile a bit. Steve seems nice, I can understand why she’s into him. Yeah, he’s pretty but he’s not my Soldat.   He tosses his shield and something else in the back before we drive to the airport.

  We park and get out. I’m on high alert, definitely not liking the parking lot. We meet a man and a young woman climbing out of a white van. They greet Steve while Buck and I lean on the car.   I run my hands over his face softly, knowing a fight is coming. He leans his head into it and my heart skips a beat. I touch his cheekbones, the tip of his nose, his lips. I sigh a little before dropping my hands to my side.   I focus on another guy who’s stepped out. He seems… Weird. I shrug it off and the girl waves at me. I wave back but jump a little when Bucky says loudly,    “We should get moving,”     “We’ve got a chopper lined up,” The first guy tells us. Over the intercom, a voice tells passengers to evacuate in German.    “They’re evacuating the airport,” I say thoughtfully. That’s not good.    “Stark,” Sam sighs.    “Suit up,” Steve instructs everyone. Bucky and I don’t exactly have much so he pulls on the leather jacket from our bag that Selene retrieved and I yank on the harness and my fireproof long sleeve and make do with my baggy jeans. I grip his hands while he mentally prepares himself to fight. 

 Steve runs out alone to the helicopter but is quickly intercepted by Iron Man. Cool. This will go down well. I keep count as more arrive. Another ‘Iron Man’ who arrived with Stark. The same one who stopped us in Romania. The man in the cat suit who I now know as King T’Challa. Natasha and another girl with pink hair. Some strange younger boy in a suit. He takes Steve’s shield with some sticky web stuff. I’m not a fan of that.   I move to sit with Wilson and Bucky while they scout for their Quinjet. Sam finds it quickly enough and lets Rogers know.   Immediately Lang and Barton initiate combat and the three of us start sprinting towards the jet. The kid hits the window as we’re running.    “What the hell is that?” I laugh at Bucky’s face, a mixture of confusion and horror.     “Everyone’s got a gimmick now,” Sam rolls his eyes and runs faster. I know he’s struggling to keep up with our pace. I find it difficult already to slow down enough for Bucky, let alone a normal person.   The kid busts through the window and kicks Sam. Hard. I skid to a stop and Bucky turns around to punch him but the spider-kid catches it.    “You have a metal arm? That is awesome, dude!” Ok, that’s disturbing. How did he not go flying? I can see Bucky trying to work that out as well before Sam grabs the kid and continues to fly through the airport.   I’m still standing there when Bucky practically throws me over his shoulder and starts running again.     “Put me down, suka!” I hit his back but he still keeps a grip on me. He does drop me a few seconds later though and flings a huge chunk of… something at the kid. He pulls me behind a pillar. He looks back to check if he hit.    “Hey buddy, I think you lost this!” The hunk of metal comes flying back at us and Bucky throws himself on top of me. I shove him off, ready to set the kid on fire when Sam starts fighting him again.   Bucky grabs my harness and starts dragging me. I see Wilson hit the floor and then get stuck to a railing. Bucky seems to forget he’s got me in tow when he flings himself in front of Sam to protect him from the kid kicking him. We all hit the ground and I’m momentarily unaware of what happens. I see Bucky’s metal arm trapped to the ground with more of that nasty web stuff but I’m too dizzy for it to make much sense.     “You couldn’t have done that earlier?”    “I hate you,” Wilson groans. I sit up but I’m overcome by a wave of nausea. Fuck. I’m definitely concussed. I know I can push through the effects of it but for the moment I just sit there, trying to hang on to whatever remains in my stomach.    “Sunny? Sunshine? Y/N!” I jolt and realise Bucky’s been yelling at me. I wave my hand before jumping up and throwing up somewhere behind a wall.    “I’m good. Let’s get out of here,” I groan. Now that that’s done, I’ll be fine. Bucky’s not having any of it though. He holds his hand out and I begrudgingly allow him to hoist me onto his back, “You’re slow enough without me,” I grumble.    “I lift 400 pounds. You’re nothing,” We start running again and make it outside, meeting Steve and the others. We stop abruptly when some floating figure cuts a line in front of us. Great! Another issue.     “Captain Rogers. I know you believe what you’re doing is right but for the collective good, you must surrender now,” I slide off of Bucky’s back.    “What do we do, Cap?” Wilson mutters.    “We fight,” We all move forward to meet them, jogging, then breaking into a run.   I lock eyes with the pink-haired girl. I meet her and get a good grip on her, trying to wrap my arms around her neck. I’m aware of Bucky on my right, locked in battle with T’Challa. She’s really good at hand-to-hand combat though, and definitely stronger than me. My agility makes me a good match though, and we lose and gain position often. Her fight pattern is uncomfortably familiar and I can’t help but wonder why I recognize it. She jerks away quickly when I grab her hands, which have gripped my harness. I feel their heat and I know I can’t control it for much longer. I use that to backsault out of it and run towards Bucky.   He gets thrown into the side of a box and is clearly winded. T’Challa moves to strike him and I put all my energy into sprinting into him. I slam into his whole body and send him flying. Wanda, the girl who waved at me in the car park, catches him with her weird magic stuff and throws him through a plane tunnel. I salute her before yanking Bucky to his feet.   He’s a little bit out of it so I use all my strength to pull him along, as fast as I can go. Steve meets us and we stop for a moment.    “We gotta go. That guy’s probably in Siberia by now,” He’s panting. Hard.    “We gotta draw out the flyers,” Steve responds.    “I’ll take Vision, you get to the jet,”    “No, you get to the jet. The three of you,” Sam calls in over the comms. Clint agrees.    “Alright, Sam, what’s the play?”     “We need a diversion. Something big,” I consider sending myself to a plane or one of the buildings to blow it up.    “Don’t,” Buck grips my wrist so hard I think for a moment he might break it,   “You’re not playing kamikaze again,” I nod, but still consider it.    “I got something kinda big, but I can’t hold it very long,” Lang says over the comms, “On my signal, run like hell. And if I tear myself in half, don’t come back for me,”    “He’s gonna tear himself in half?” Bucky shakes his head. We all wait for a moment.   Lang transforms until he’s huge. Like. Bigger than the planes, “You go ahead. We can catch up,” Buck breathes in my ear. I almost shake my head but the look he gives me scares me a little. And that’s saying something. I nod but quickly press my lips to his.     “Run fast,” I whisper.    “I guess that’s the signal,” Rogers is still staring at Scott.   I take off running, knowing no one will catch me. I don’t look back, no matter how much I want to. I hear burning behind me and realise I’m running on flaming feet. That might be cool and all, if it was because of how fast I was running. But the truth is simply that I’m upset and worried about my Soldat.   I reach the jet and skid to a stop. I try to put out the flames but I’m getting myself more and more worked up the more I try to extinguish them.     “Fuck, fuck, fuck!” I stamp my feet. My hands are also burning.   I hear a crashing and see a building coming down over the entrance to the hangar. I rush to reach Steve and Bucky, who are just about to reach me when it stops. Wanda is holding it, barely. Something happens and she has to let it go but Steve and Bucky make it in. I fling myself at my soldier and his arms wrap tightly around me, picking me up and carrying me into the jet. My feet and hands must’ve gone out.   Steve starts it up and we fly out of the hangar. Bucky collapses to the ground, still holding me so hard I can hardly breathe. I don’t care though and knot my fingers into his hair.      “Breathe, doll. You need to breathe,” He whispers into my ear as I fight down sobs. I’m not sure why I’m so upset now. Of all the times to be upset. I must look insane, my eyes are wide, staring straight into his. It’s the sight of those striking blue eyes that make my heart flutter.   His hand reaches for my face and I allow him to brush back my hair and stroke my cheek. I calm down enough to feel us speed up. We must have Stark and the other guy on our tail. Bucky settles himself in a seat and straps himself in. I sit on his lap and try to calm the anxiety in my chest.   We fly for an hour before I start to relax. I find a first aid kit and deal with Bucky’s cuts. I make a fuss over the tiniest things and he allows me. Normally he’d brush me off and try to make me sit down but he must think it’s better to allow himself to be fussed over again. I finally finish and my hands are still shaking.   Why I’m on edge, I’m not sure.

  “Kang Y/N,” She freezes, startled at the use of her full name. She locks eyes with Bucky, “You are going to be fine,” He knows that it’s because they’re returning to Siberia. To where both of them were held against our will. She shakes her head and sits down across from him, “What’s going to happen to your friends?”    “Whatever it is…” Steve’s voice breaks a little, “I’ll deal with it,”    “I don’t know if I’m worth all this, Steve,” He sighs. She exhales and buries her face in her hands.    “What you did all those years. It wasn’t you,” Steve is quiet when he says it but there’s a weight behind his words, “You didn’t have a choice,”    “I know. But I did it,” She stands up.    “Shut up,” Bucky opens his mouth but snaps it shut when he sees her face. It’s dark, her eyes are filling with tears, “Don’t even fucking… Just. Don’t,” She’s been on edge since the airport and this conversation isn’t helping. She walks to sit on the floor of the jet, towards the back.   He moves to sit next to Steve.    “She really cares about you,” His voice is hushed.    “I guess,”     “Don’t give me that,” He rubs his eyes, “She wouldn’t be here right now if she didn’t. I see the way she looks at you. It’s… A lot. The way she hovers over you, fusses about your injuries, always ends up back at your side. I’ve never seen anyone like that before,” Bucky considers his words for a moment.   After HYDRA and SHIELD. After the crash. She was there, obviously looking for him. She came with him, knowing she’d be killed if they were caught. The way she fought to stay by his side after they were taken from Romania.   According to Steve, she’d jumped right off the roof for him. She’s always been like that though. It’s always been… Y/N and Bucky. He’d never really considered it until now.     “Do you think she…”    “I’m not blind, Buck. She kissed you. That’s not just a friend thing,” He smirks at Bucky. He looks back over at her. She’s clearly still nursing a headache and God knows what other effects of a concussion. Her head rests in her hands as she sits on the floor.   He knows he felt his heart skip a beat when she kissed him. It always does when she touches him. He’d always just put it down to the fact that every other instance of physical contact in his life had been violent.    But maybe it was something else…

Ever since the last time we released Kanban on Mac, Windows and Web, we’ve heard it multiple times for Kanban on mobile. Now, it’s all happening! This article will walk you through how to make the best use of Kanban View at TickTick mobile versions to visualize and streamline your workflow!

What is Kanban?

Some of you may never heard of Kanban or not be very familiar with what it is, but I suppose you’ve all ever seen a whiteboard with many sticky notes placed under different sections. That is exactly what Kanban is!

In a simple term, Kanban is a project management method to help you visualize your workflow. It was first used by line-workers in Toyota’s factory. They’ve found a visual card showing what needs to be done and when, has helped a lot with the process of production. It has then been wide-spread and used by many others in other industries as well. 

TickTick embraced Kanban and made it available on desktop versions not so long ago. Now, we’ve brought it to mobile versions, in order to help you manage your projects anywhere and anytime!

Step-by-step guide of using Kanban 

1. Where to find Kanban on your smart phones

To enable Kanban View, first you need to go to a list that you created in TickTick (Default smart lists such as “Today” are not applicable), tap the “…” at the top right corner of the list and select  “Switch View”. You will see two options in the pop-up window: List View and Kanban View. Choose Kanban and you’re all set to go.

2. What’s under Kanban view

After switching to Kanban View, your list will then become a Kanban board with two columns: To Do and Progress. You can rename the existing columns and also add new ones if needed. 

3. Keep your columns in order

To manage the columns, tap the “…” button at the top right corner of one of the existing columns. Here you can choose to edit, add new ones and manage. 

For instance, if you want to add a new column in the middle of two existing columns, you can choose either “add a new column to the left” or “add a new column to the right”. If you’d like to change the order of how these columns are placed, then you may go to the “manage columns” and change the order by drag n’ drop. 

4. Different ways to view columns

To view the columns you’ve created, you can simply swipe left and right. If you’d like to quickly locate and switch to a specific column, especially when there are too many, then you could tap the name of a random column, and there will be a new window that displays all the columns in the grid. From there you’re free to jump to any.

5. Decide where your tasks go 

After switching to Kanban View, all your tasks in that list will automatically go into the “To Do” column. However, you can change the locations of every task simply by drag n’ drop. Not only within the same column, you can actually choose to put it anywhere. For example, if you’d like to move one task from “To Do” to “Progress”, all you have to do is drag the task to the bottom and then drop it there to select any column you’d like the task to go to.

6. Edit multiple tasks from different columns

In Kanban View, it becomes even easier to continuously track your progress and rearrange work schedules more efficiently because you can always choose to edit multiple tasks from different columns. There’s also a “Select all” button that saves you plenty of time when batching tasks.

7. Quick add tasks to a specific column

To quickly add a task to a desired column, tap “+” and input the task info, and the task you just created will automatically go into the column which your screen now presents. That saves time for task categorization and is also helpful when something new pops up in your project and you need to quickly write it down.

8. Make use of little visual hints

Kanban is not only desirable when tracking the progress of a whole project, you can also see the progress of each task with some little visual hints. For example, there’s a mini pie chart that shows how many percentages you’ve achieved of a certain task. A preview of task descriptions and subtasks are also shown under the task name.

How to make the best use of Kanban 

Kanban view offers a simple, open-ended way of structuring, checking and rearranging your tasks. You can always use it as you like and organize tasks into columns in the way that makes sense to you.

Basically, it can be used for almost all the project management. For one thing, Kanban’s highly visual nature makes your project look neat and well-organized. For another, it saves you from the trouble of creating so many lists for a project because you can do it just in one place.

For instance, if you want to manage a release of a product. You may create a series of columns named: Documenting, Designing, Finished design, Developing, Testing, Public Beta, Ready to release.

Or, let’s say it’s an event planning task that you are going to accomplish. Instead of creating so many lists for different parts of the job, you can organize them in one list, and sort them out by creating different columns in Kanban View. This allows you to track, check and modify everything just in one place. With it on mobile, this process becomes even easier.

AN: I am super excited to write about Conrad for the first time, and I loved the request as well! I personally felt bad for the spider in Skull Island, he was just walking around then was getting shot at. This is the anon request I got:

Would love a Conrad x reader where they've been taken for food by one of those weird giant spiders and he rescues them ( fluffy )

(Y/N POV)

It had been a crazy day, to say the least. We flew through the huge hurricane-like storm, which was one of the reasons I was here in the first place, to get to an uncharted island, then when the soldiers started dropping those charges, a massive ape took down all of our choppers. I was the only one in my chopper that made it, and I was trying to make my way to any other survivors. I was brought onto the team because of my knowledge of meteorology and was here to document the weather system of the island.

Luckily for me, I knew about how to navigate and survive in the wilderness, due to all the traveling I had done in my field of work. I took a radio and climbed up a mountain, trying to get a feel for where I was and to see if I could make radio contact with anyone. Once I got to the top, I could see a river and what looked to be a village of some sort surrounded by a huge wall out in the distance, about six kilometers the southeast. It would be dark in a few hours and I needed to find some kind of shelter, so I began to make my way to the village, trying the radio every so often trying to get in contact with anyone.

"Hello," I said into the radio, hoping this time I could get through to someone. "This is Dr. Y/L/N, can anyone hear me?"

"Yes," I heard a faint voice through the static. "We read you, Doctor. This is Slivko, do you know your location?"

"Kind of," I said looking around. "I saw a village a few kilometers to the southeast, and I am going to try and make my way there now."

"That's where we are," Slivko said over the radio. "Hold on." I heard some very faint voices come through than Slivko came back a few minutes later. "Conrad says he is coming to get you and is going to try and help you get to us. We have a boat and are going to leave tomorrow and make to our exit window."

"A boat?" I asked confused on how they had a boat. "And I can make it there myself, I am only about three and a half kilometers away. You can tell Captain Conrad that I don't need his help."

I knew James Conrad before we arrived on the island. About two years ago he was the navigator for another expedition I was on in the French Alps. We had gotten to know each other very well on that trip, and after it was over, we still kept in touch. Until about seven months ago, when he basically dropped off the face of the earth. I was more than surprised when I arrived on board the ship and saw James. I wanted to talk to him, but something was holding me back. Maybe it was the thought that he didn't want to see me, I mean we hadn't even had any contact for over seven months. Maybe it was the fact that I had developed feelings for him over the time we had known each other.

"Sorry Dr. Y/L/N," Slivko began to say. "But Conrad left once he heard what direction you were coming from. He is already on his way."

I sighed as I walked, wondering why Conrad would insist on coming after me. He knew that I knew how to handle myself in the wild, and I could get there without his help.

"Alright," I said into the radio. "Thanks, I will be with you shortly."

I turned off the radio to save the battery in case I would need it again. I looked at the sky and guessed that I had about four hours till the sun would set. So, with the thought of making it out of here alive, I set off once again.

After about half a kilometer, I heard a noise in the woods in front of me. The only weapon I had was a six-inch long dagger, but it was better than nothing. I slowly made my way closer to the sound, not sure if it was some sort of animal or Conrad.

I tried to take another step, only to realize I couldn't lift either of my feet off the ground. I looked down and saw I had stepped on something that was almost invisible and looked like someone had put a ten-foot net on the ground. I tried to pull my feet free but found the more I struggled the tighter they seemed to stick. I tried cutting myself out with the dagger, but that didn't work either.

Then I heard I sound come from my left, so I looked over, and then all the blood drained from my face. There was a huge spider walking towards me and with horror, I knew what I had stepped on. This was the spider's web and I was its prey.

It used two of its long front legs to grab part of the web and bring it closer to my body. The movement caused the dagger to fall out of my hands and onto the ground. Then with the speed of light, it began to wrap me in the sticky silk. For some reason or just dumb luck, it the silk didn't cover my head, the tightly wrapped silk stopped just above my shoulders.

I couldn't keep my balance with my legs tightly wrapped and fell with a yell. I felt my head it the forest floor and everything went black.

(James POV)

I was relieved to hear her voice come over Slivko's radio. It had been so long seance I had last spoken to her, and yet I still didn't talk to her when we were both on the ship coming here. I thought I would try to talk to her once the choppers landed and we had set up came, but that is not what happened. As soon as she said we were to the southwest of her I ran out of the room we had all been standing in, and out to find her.

I had always felt bad about not talking to her for months, but I was just scared. I had seen war, death, horrors that no one should see, and yet the thought of having feeling for Y/N scared me to more than anything.

When I was almost two kilometers out, I was looking around for Y/N, she should be close now. Then I heard a loud crash that got my attention.

Then I heard a frightened scream, and I began to run towards the sound. I knew that voice, it was Y/N and she was in trouble. I was searching the forest as I ran, looking for any signs of Y/N. Had a "Skull Crawler" as Marlow had called them earlier. I was hoping that was not the case, but I was worried about her.

Then I saw something shiny caught my eye, it looked like some kind of metal reflecting the sun's light. I went closer and saw it was Y/N's dagger. I had seen her with it on the ship and knew it belonged to her. Then I looked around where I was standing and saw that a large area of ground around me had been disturbed and there was a trail leading deeper into the forest. It looked like something had been dragged along the grown, and the path looked fresh. I had a feeling that if I followed it, I would find Y/N.

I ran following the light path keeping an eye out for Y/N or anything that could jump out of the woods at me. I ran a few hundred yards then came to the foot of a mountain with a huge cave. The mouth of the cave must have been at least thirty feet high and the trail led right into it. I luckily had brought a torch (flashlight) with me, so I took it off the belt it had been strapped to and began to walk towards the cave. I flipped the small switch and a beam of light cut through the darkness of the huge cave.

As I flashed my light around, I could see bones of various animals scattered on the ground, and I had a feeling that this was something's home. Then I saw something that seemed to be wrapped in something white laying on the ground a few yards away from me. Once I took a closer look, I saw that it was Y/N and ran to her.

"Y/N," I said once I got to her and saw that she was unconscious. "Y/N, it's me, James. You need to wake you. Y/N? Come on love, wake up. Y/N."

(Y/N POV)

"Y/N?" I heard a voice say as I regained consciousness. "Come on love, wake up. Y/N?"

I knew that voice, even though it had been so long seance I had heard it. I could never forget that deep British voice.

"Jam....James, is that you?" I asked shakily as my eyes began to flutter open.

"Yes," He said letting out a breath and reaching his hand under my head to elevate it slightly. "It's me Y/N. I am so glad I found you. It's alright I got you, you are safe now."

Why was he being so concerned? What was that look in his eyes?

"James," I said trying to move, only to remember I was still wrapped in spider silk. Then I remembered the spider. "We aren't safe," I said my tone changing immediately. "We need to get out of her now before it comes back."

"It?" James asked with a worried look in his eyes as he took out my dagger and tried cutting me out of my silky bonds. "Before what comes back?"

Before I could answer, a hissing sound came from further in the cave. James showed his light down to where the sound had come from and I could see eight long legs. When James moved his light up, we could see the body of the huge spider. James cutting harder, trying to free me before it could get to us, but the dagger barely made a dent.

"Just go," I said as he became desperate, cutting at the strong silk. "We both don't need to die here, and I don't want to be the reason the rest of the survivors don't have a navigator."

"No," James said sternly. "I am not leaving you here."

"Goodness James," I said sharply. "Don't make it sound so pathetic. I don't need you dying for me, just go."

He grunted in frustration and spider was now nor more than thirty yards away from us. The without warning, James put on arm under my back and one under my legs and lifted me off the ground. Then he ran for the exit of the cave with me in his arms. I didn't move at all so he wouldn't drop me. Once we made it out of the cave he ran into the woods and was making good time considering he was carrying me in his arms. Once he ran a while and was sure we lost the spider he gently set me down on the ground so my back was agents a tree and I could sit up.

"Thank you," I said to James who was catching his breath. "Thank you for coming for me."

"Oh, Y/N," James said with a smile. "There is no need to think me. It is what I am here for after all, and besides, why wouldn't I come after you? let's say I am paying you back from keeping me from falling off a mountain."

I smiled at the fact he remembered. On the first expedition we were one together, in the French Alps, James and slipped while close to the side of a cliff and I grabbed him to keep him from falling. I tried to shift slightly but seeing as most of my movement was restricted by the web the wrapped me from my shoulders to my feet it didn't work very well. We were both slight for a few more minutes, and the James got up and walked to where he had set me down.

"The sun will be down in about an hour," James said leaning down and going to pick me up again. "We need to start heading back to the village."

"And what," I began to say as he picked me up again and began walking. "You are going to carry me another kilometer? Come on James, surely we can figure something else out."

"Well," He said looking at me with a smirk. "I could drop you."

James moved his arms down swiftly but making sure not to actually drop me, but still causing me to shriek in fear of being dropped.

"James Conrad!" I scolded him, while he just laughed. How I missed that laugh. "I swear when I get out of this, I am going to kill you."

"Well then," He said with a low tone smirk still on his face. "I may just have to leave you like this, helpless and dependent on me."

"You know damn well I am not helpless," I spat at him. "You just like this because I can't run away from you."

Not that I wanted to run away from him, in fact, I was quite happy to be held close by James. Even if it was because we were stuck on a crazy uncharted island and I was wrapped in a giant spider's web. Look at the bright said right?

"That is a plus," He said with a soft laugh. "It gives us time to catch up on the past few months and to apologize for not talking to you for so long. In truth, I missed you a lot."

"I did too," I said looking into his beautiful blue eyes. "But why? What happened? It was like you dropped off the face of the earth. There were even times when I thought you were dead. James, what happened?"

I looked through the forest and could see smoke from fires behind the large wood wall, drifting in the soft sunset sky. We were close to the village now.

"I was scared," James said quietly almost to himself. "I didn't know what to do."

"Scared of what?" I asked him softly, but he didn't answer.

We walked out of the woods and into a clearing where the tall wall was completely visible just a hundred yards in front of us.

"Now," James said breaking the silence as we got closer to the small opening in the wall. "To work out how in the world to get you out of this stuff."

That was a good question. The dagger didn't work, so I didn't think cutting it would be effective. What else could we try that was on the island. Then I remembered the smoke. Smoke meant fire, and fire meant heat, and heat might be just the thing we needed.

"Heat?" I said to myself out loud.

"What was that Y/N?" James asked as we walked through the hole in the wooden wall and into the village.

"What if we use fire to heat up a blade?" I said as he carried me to a small hut, it must have been the one he was staying in. "Maybe then it will cut through."

"You know something?" James said as he sat me down on the soft dirt floor. "You are a genius. I will be right back."

With that, he left me alone in the hut, and I began thinking about what he had said earlier. What could make him so scared he wouldn't talk to me? Also, why wouldn't he talk to me if he was scared? It didn't make any sense. After about ten minutes James came back holding my dagger and it had a slight red glow to it.

"Let's hope this works," James says as he kneels down next to me with the dagger in hand. "If not, I don't know what else to try."

As soon as the hot metal of the dagger hit the silk of the web, it began his hiss and steam. Then it cut through slightly, and we breathed a sigh of relief. It would take a while, but I would be able to get out.

"Seeing as we will be here for a while," I said looking at James as he worked to cut the web from my feet and work his way up. "Would you please tell me why you stopped talking to me?"

"That's just it!" He said defeated. "It's not that simple. I don't even think you would understand."

"Try me," I said. "Come on James, I am your friend, or at least I used to be."

"You still are," I said using his hand to grab my chin softly so I would look at him. "You always will be, but that's the problem."

"Problem?" I asked worriedly.

"No, I didn't mean it like that," James said as if he knew what I was thinking. "We are friends, and that is great, but a few months ago I was starting to feel more."

I looked at him in shock. Did he just say he liked me? As I looked into his blue eyes, I saw the same emotion as earlier and now I could place it, love. At this point, he had cut to about halfway up my chest, and I was almost free.

"Ar..are you trying to say you like me?" I asked, hope in my eyes.

"Yes," James said with a soft look on his face. "I have for a long time now, but never had the courage to tell you." I looked deep into my Y/E/C eyes. "I almost lost you today, and it made me realize that if you don't tell the one you love how you feel, then they can slip through your fingers with ever knowing how you felt."

I could feel all of the pent-up emotions build up inside of me and I let out a happy cry.

"You have no idea how long I have been waiting to hear you say that," I said, wanting nothing more than to wrap my arms around him but not quite able to yet. "I have felt the same way James, I just didn't think you liked me back."

"Of course, I do," He said with a loving smile. "You are the most amazing person I have ever met. How could I not love you?"

Just as he said that the last of the web had been cut from my body freeing me. I throw myself at James and wrapped my arms around his strong body and he wrapped his muscled arms around my waist. We looked into each other's eye for a few moments before he leaned in and brought my lips to his in a needy love filled kiss.

I knew that once we got off the island that an amazing new life together waited for me and James, and I couldn't wait.
